Inside Fūga · Hoodies Deeper into Hoodies

Hoodies are the universal layering piece in the modern wardrobe - comfort classics that work equally well under a shell or on their own as a top layer. At Fuga Studios 2026 You will find hoodies in the most important variants: oversized heavy fleece sweaters, technical zip-up models, minimalist designs without visible branding and experimental cuts from the Opium- and Gothic collection. Each hoodie is designed to last and work across multiple seasons.

📖 Briefly explained: Hoodies at Fuga Studios

Heavy fleece or technical fleece alternatives, oversized to extra-oversized, adjustable hoods with cord systems, zipper details or asymmetrical cuts. Colors: Black, charcoal, anthracite, white, occasionally khaki or earth tones. Premium workmanship, no visible logo branding.

What types of hoodies are there?

Pullover hoodies are the classic: no zipper, full fleece weight (300-500 g/m²), perfect as a mid-layer or solo layer. Zip-up hoodies are flexible — quick to put on and take off, ideal for transitions and layering scenarios. Oversized designs are defined by dropped shoulders, extra-long sleeves and a loose cut that deliberately appears large. Technical hoodies with water-repellent or wind-blocking coatings work as a semi-outer layer without the need for an extra jacket.

Then there is Statement hoodies with experimental details: asymmetrical cuts, hidden pockets, adjustable sleeves or unconventional fabrics. These pieces work through design, not through comfort alone — Opium Hoodies and Gothic hoodies fall into this category.

Hoodie Styling Guide: Layering Basics

A hoodie isn't a standalone statement — it's a component of a larger system. As a mid-layer: Base layer (fitted long-sleeve or turtleneck) + hoodie + Outer Shell (Jacket or windbreaker). This design works in the cold season and allows for flexible temperature control. As a solo layer: Hoodie directly over a base layer or without — perfect for milder days or indoor environments.

Styling rule #1: Oversized is almost always the better choice. Rule #2: The hood should either fit completely over the head or be draped loosely over the shoulders — there is no middle position. Rule #3: Mixing materials works better than mixing colors. A heavy fleece hoodie combined with a technical jacket creates contrast material, the look becomes more interesting.

When do you wear which hoodie?

Heavy fleece sweater are the workhorses of winter — ultra-warm, solid construction, ideal as a mid-layer or solo outer layer on days between 0°C and 10°C. Zip-up hoodies are the Swiss Army Knife: quick to put on and take off, perfect for transitional seasons and for people who frequently adjust their temperature levels. Technical hoodies with water-repellent properties, they work even in light drizzle without you needing an extra jacket — a game-changer for city dwellers.

Statement hoodies (from the Opium- or Gothic collections) are for days with a focus on outfit communication - when your hoodie is not only functional, but also sets the visual point. Wear these pieces on occasions where attention is desired, not where invisibility is necessary.

🎯 Hoodie according to use case

Winter layering, outdoor adventure, urban casual — find the perfect match.

💡 Pro tip

Fabric weight is crucial. Under 280 g/m² = summer/light layering. 300-350 g/m² = all year round standard. 400+ g/m² = winter heavy weight. Choose based on season and intended use, not just look.

Hoodie vs. sweatshirt: what's the difference?

A hoodie has a hood, a sweatshirt doesn't — that's the primary definition. But in the Fuga Studios context, the difference is deeper: a hoodie is a design statement with a functional hood that is intended as a feature, not an add-on. A standard sweatshirt is more casual wear. With us you will find both, but the hoodies are more technically well thought out and made from better materials.

For Streetwear aesthetic we have Streetwear zip-up hoodies with urban DNA. And for the experimental side: Opium offers unconventional cuts and material experiments.

Frequently asked questions about hoodies

What is a hoodie?

A hoodie is a hooded sweatshirt or jacket with a zipper. At Fuga Studios, our hoodies are technically well thought out, made from premium fabrics and have a minimalist design without visible logos.

Pullover or zip-up – which hoodie is better?

Pullover hoodies are warmer and more solid, zip-ups are more flexible. Zip-up is ideal for layering. For solo wear and maximum warmth, sweater is better. Ideally, you have one of both.

Which size should I choose for an oversized hoodie?

Oversized hoodies are deliberately cut large. Take your standard size for the intended oversized look, or one size smaller for a slightly reduced fit. Try on if possible.

How do I wash a hoodie correctly?

Machine wash at 30°C, no fabric softener, turn inside out. Air drying is ideal, low machine drying also works. Heavy fleece takes 24-36 hours to dry completely.

Are all hoodies at Fuga Studios unisex?

Most of our hoodies are unisex cut — we use oversized as standard. A few pieces have gender specifics; these are marked in the product description.

How much do hoodies cost at Fuga Studios?

Our hoodies range between approximately €49 and €139 depending on type and material. Basic hoodies start at €49-69, premium heavy fleece at €89-109, statement pieces at €119-139.

Streetwear is the root — the first designs out of Tokyo 2015 were Anime prints, Japanese characters, Harajuku graphics. Everything else grew from that, but the line keeps running.
